PATNA: The Bihar State Education Finance Cooperation, launched by Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar, to boost the government's ambitious Student Credit Card scheme on Wednesday.
"To rising the state's gross enrolment ratio (GER) for the further higher studies is the scheme aim", which is currently 14.3% as against the national average of 24%. and we just try to intend it to raise up to at least 30% within the next 5 year, said Nitish kumar. He also added that, government would work to take the GRP up to35%and 40% in consequent year.
The students of Bihar who willing to pursue their higher education mainly girls, transgender and divyang students can now avail education loan up to 4 lakh at the interest rate of only 1% while the general quota students have to pay 4% interest rate.
The students who have passed class-12 for them state government set up the cooperation as an alternative to commercial banks to speed up education loan under SSC scheme said CM. The commercial banks only prefers to provide education loan mainly to the students who pursuing technical education he added. “ But under the state government’s SSC scheme, the loan is also available for those students who are willing to pursing general education after passing class 12th examination he added.
